OK - it's only in the US, but there is now a 3D Objects storefront on Amazon via 3DLT (another Shapeways-like 3D design/print service).Now admittedly, its current stock can be I think generously described (to quote my wife) as 'tat', apart from some phone and GoPro cases and holders, but it's an interesting indication that 3D printing is becoming more mainstream.
Looking through Shapeways (as an aside) it's interesting how little there is if one searches for (say) "tank 15mm".
But there are a lot of spaceships etc on Shapeways. Shows the preferences of the customer base.
