D-Day 70th

As part of the research for some of the club's games we're planning to put on for the 70th anniversary of D-Day, I finally got to watch the opening of Saving Private Ryan. (Yes, I admit it, I've never seen the movie).

May I just say...

... Holy crap.

  1. Shame you did not watch in the cinema, it was spectacular. I remember grabbing the seat so hard with my hands that they were aching for a week,

  2. Yes, dramatic is a pale word for the action depicted in that scene. I've read of Normandy veterans who exited the cinema shaken to the core because what they saw on the big screen brought it all back to them.

    Good luck with your project.

  3. Pretty intense stuff. Good watching when you think you've had a bad day at work. Had a friend who thought Steven Spielberg had got carried away a bit. I asked her what she thought 3000 dead in a day would look like.
